Anyone tried the one piece oil pan gaskets for the 302's. The difference in price from the 4 piece ones is ~$20 so I was wondering if they are worth the extra dough. I would appreciate any good/bad news.

I used a one-piece gasket on a chevy 350 about a year ago and felt that it was worth every cent. I used a fel-pro gasket that included the inserts that hold the gasket in place for you. It was a quality piece and made the job much easier. I'm sure the four piece will probably still do a good job if you don't want to spare the extra change. Maybe someone else can tell you if it was helpful on a 302. Good luck either way you go!!

Wish I could say from personal experience. The 5.0 that I bought had one on it. Looked like it sealed really well, but the guy I bought the engine from had pulled the front cover without taking the pan down and tore the front part of the gasket off. I really liked the look of it, but I did wonder how hard it would be to put on with the engine in the car.
