Some rough paint...how to fix?
On the 85 Gt there is some rough spots on the paint that do not look very pretty. First problem is that there are some dull spots that looks like someone took some fine sandpaper to and never fixed it. Then there are spots from where it had a repaint and there are places where the new paint meets the old paint & there is an ugly ridge there. How can i fix this and what should i use to finish it off??(ie nice gloss) BTW this is oxford white paint. Thanks for any help!!

Without seein the rough spots I cant tellyou how to fix them. The tape lines you cant get rid of with out sanding and repainting. By any chance are the rough spots on the roof or the hood, if so it sounds like paint oxidation and if its tru the color you will neew to repaint to repair it.

I took out some rough scuff marks in my paint by 1)Clean area with rubbing compound 2)Wet sand with 1500 grit 3)Wet sand w/ 2000 grit 3)use a polish compound 4)wax

I agree with Fiveohjoe. That will remove a layer of clear coat though. Be cautious of this method though, because you may not have enough clearcoat to rub off and still have some left over!
Glad to have you back brooks.
