Down with Autumn Fleet Sales!!!
Anyone else here have any wheels that were purchased from AFS and have a problem with their paint? I have the silver finish Cobra Rs that I bought off a guy in IL who said they were new, for $625. The wheels have bubbles, pits, and other types of imperfections all over them. I can't imagine that the guy would have curbed all 4, and had them all repainted at the same time, so I assume this is the way they came from the factory. I'm guessing that he purchased them new, saw how crappy they were, and wasn't able to send them back.
Needless to say, I was a bit surprised because their advertisements in 5.0/SuperFord and MMFF are so adamant about being "quality OEM reproductions". I'd like to call them up just to say how disappointed I am in their workmanship, even though I doubt I can claim anything since I did not buy the set directly from them. Was this just a fluke set, or have any of you had a similar experience? |

I bought a set of 96 Cobra wheels a couple of years ago and was very pleased with the finish. They have held up very nicely too. They came individually wrapped and boxed with a plastic protective ring around the outer edge of the wheel. The center caps were also individually wrapped and boxed to prevent damage.

I was not aware that the 96 cobra wheels were even painted! I thought they were a polished type finish with the black accents d'oh! Ah well thanks for the suggestion Dark

If you look on eBay these guys sell blemished wheels all the time real cheap. Maybe they are a set of blems.

I had the polished '95 Cobra R's and was very happy with the finish, although I haven't seen any of their painted or powdercoated rims up close.

I originally bought a set of 4-lug Cobra R rims for my 89 Lx. Two of them arrived with imperfections. I had to pay the $50 shipping to send them back. But after I mounted the tires and put on the tims, I found out that the 17x9 rims didn't fit my Mustang in the front. So I called them up and they told me they would allow me to exchange the two up front for the 17x8's which they were just about to start producing. I talked to the owner about it too! Man they had great customer service!
