Think it's time for drag radials!
I'm coming to a point where drag radials are probably a necessity on the street. I've got BFG Comp T/A 245/50/16 zr's on now...they're damn good, but I think I'm going to switch to BFG Comp Drag Radials (not sure of exact model etc) 255/50/16. Any thoughts?

I don't have anywhere near the HP you do, but I found myself continually getting beat at the stop light races due to no traction on street tires. 1st gear was a joke, and in some situations, nailing it in 2nd resulted in tons of wheel spin. I threw a set of nitto 555R drag radials and needless to say, I don't have that problem anymore. I personally would go for the Nitto's on a true street/strip car. They will last a lot longer on the street than the BFG's will. I have way over 12K miles and 60+ passes on them, and they are now finally getting to the point where I should replace them. I was cutting 1.91 60's on them with my mods before the 4.10's and subframe connectors. They don't hook as well as they used to, I think it because they are worn past the duwl compound rubber. The BFG's on the other hand hook just as well bald as they do new. The BFG's do recommend heat cycling on the first time out, but don't need the hellatious burnout that the Nitto's do to hook up.

With that many miles you obviousley don't drive it a lot. Probably just weekends. In that case I would do it right the first time and get MT ET Streets. Just my opinion.

Both the Nitto & BFG drag radials are excellent.
The Nittos have more tread life & are better in the rain. BFG's are 255/50/16. Nitto's are 245/50/16. As Impulse said, ET streets would be alot stickier, but they aren't radials, don't work in the wet & won't last as long. I've gone low 1.7x 60fts with both the Nitto's & the BFG's. (with a best of 1.690 on the BFG's) ------------------ 91 coupe 3.73's,long tubes,2 1/2" exh,ported stock t-body,ProM-77mm cobra intake,edelbrock heads,B303,1.72 rr's 36lb inj's,tremec, & a Paxton NOVI 2000!!! 11.020 @128.95 on BFG Drag Radials (275/60/15) |

I'm still kind of leaning to the BFG's since I have them upfront.........but do you think putting on 255's will be ok?

If you're looking for a MT ET Street a little thinner I beleave they make a 26x8.5 which will fit perfectly with quads and tailpipes. (26x10.5 you'll have to remove or flip your quads and they'll probably rub your tailpipes)
