1995 Cobra
tomarrow I am purchasing a 95 cobra and was wondering if anyone could tell me the differences between the cobra and the GT for 95? For example, interior, exterior, motor, brakes, just about everything would be great!
I think I know all the differences but lets see if I am missing something. thanx in advance!!! snakeskin, 95 cobra-99 svt contour |

Appearence:
1. Has the rear dumper cover from the 6 banger, "Mustang" 2. Front facade is different. The fog lights are round and exposed. They're resessed on the GTs. 3. Cobra specific 5 spoke wheels. 4. (96-98, I think in 95) the steering wheel says "Cobra" 5. White faced guages. 6. (96-98, I think on 95) the parking brake handle and shift boot are leather. Brakes: 1. Front brakes have 13 inch rotors, twin piston calipers that say "Cobra" 2. Larger brake booster Engine: 1. Cobra Intake 2. 1.7 rollers 3. GT40 heads 4. Cobra specific computer Suspension: About the same, but little different springs and shocks I think that's all... |

Also on the 95 Cobra's the wheels should look all polished, as opposed to the 96-98's where there is dark gray paint is involved with the spokes.
The cams are also different on the 95 Cobra's from the GT's. The Cobra has more of a racing, straight-line acceleration cam, where as the GT has more of a touring cam. I also thought the inside steering wheels said 'Mustang" instead of 'Cobra', but I could be wrong on that account. I think it should also come with a 65 mm throttle body, and I think a bigger MAF unit, instead of the GT's 60 mm and smaller MAF unit. And when changing belts, remember to ask for Cobra specific parts. I know the GT belt is longer than the Cobra belt. I also thought the Mach 460 with CD came standard, as did leather, unless you requested different items. Anyway, hope this helps. ------------------ 1996 Laser Red Cobra. 12.64@106.1 mph; 1.92 60 ft. I keep racin' it, and it keeps getting faster!(It's still a heavy beast) |

Hi, I just wanted to add that the 95 Cobra has 3.08 gears. Everyone says we'll get a big time improvement if changed to 3.55 or 3.73. I've been hanging back on getting the gears on mine cause i'm working on handling improvements first. Regards, Burgie 95-Cobra BonB, KN, MSD6AL, Griggs Sub/F, Tokico 5 way Shocks and Struts with Griggs coil over kit in front. Offset rack busings, Griggs Springs, 300lb/front-350lb/rear. Maximum Motorsports caster-camber plates. Next to upgrade are my front brake rotors and pads. Hopefully within athe next couple of months. Quote:
