Question 1998 Cobra rear end

I am new to the game. I want to put an independant rear end on a 1998 Cobra to make it more like the 1999 Cobra. What parts, need to be replaced? I was told a new differential and a new axle (two arms). Are their any issues I need to worry about? Differences in differential gearing? Please excuse my ingnorance in that I am trying to learn! I could be totally wrong all together.

The '99 Cobra IRS bolts on to the same mounting points as the 4 link you have now. So basically you buy it as one big unit. You also need to do some exhault work. On the live axle the pipes do the up and over. On the IRS they come together and run under the differential, which is fixed in position.

If you look on EBay or in the classified sections of sites like this one, you can propbably be able to find one.

A couple of people around here just sold them, so they can tell you how much to expect to pay for all this. Atleast $2500-$3000 I imagine.

93CobraR--I did not mean to intrude however, being a mechanical engineer, I prefer to have as much information as possible. That way an informed decison can be made.
