Cooling question
 

On my 93 stang, I noticed I occasionally run hot. I have an autometer temp gauge and noticed last night, while sitting in a drive through line that my temperature was going from 170 (normal temp) all the way to 206. I don't know if 206 is high, but for it being at 170 most of the time, going to 206 is kind of high to me. I have a 160 degree thermostat in it, and a new 3 row radiator. What should I do to keep the car cool? Thanks, Keith

Flush and fill the radiatior with a mix that you know is good and some water wetter. Didn't he say that car had a new clutch fan? Maybe the belt isn't tight enough, although that you would hear.

206 isn't necessarily hot. If the temp peaked there, it's not a big deal, but if it would have continued climbing, then you may have a problem. What kind of fan does it have?

Take that 160 thermostat out,it doesn't allow the coolant to stay in the radiator long enough to cool.

Replace it with a 180 thermostat.

I'm running 6lbs of boost,stock radiator and 180 thermostat,it doesnt even get close to overheating.

It has a stock fan on it, that was recently replaced. The problem is that I don't know if it would have gone higher than 206. As soon as I got my food, I took off like a bat out of hell and continued to run her hard and the temp went right back down to 170. I think I just need to replace the thermostat with a 180 degree thermostat and flush and fill my radiator. I'm going to do a basic tune-up this weekend anyways, so I'll add this to the list.
