AIR/FUEL question ?
ok , my cars been running like crap lately, it felt like it was really fat, untill i pulled a couple of plugs out today,
i drove around waiting for my car to start acting up, as soon as she started hesitating i cut her off, rolled on the side of the Rd. and started pullin plug, i expected to see my plugs fouled with gas on them, i saw the oppisite , they has white carbon all over them. so im runnin lean. ok heres my questions..... what would make me run lean ? i thought when a MAF of o2 sensor took a dump, it always lead u to a fat condition. i know that my baffel inside my gas tank is busted loose inside my tank, but thats been busted for years now. could that have anything to do with it ?? Will buying a A/F ratio gauge show me a lean condition if my fuel pump is goin , or if i have a couple of shitty injectors ?? i have about 15 degrees of timming into it. (i already tried putting a new distributor into it, and she still ran like shit) and about 28 psi goin throught the regulator (vaccume off) this hesitation isnt all the time, only sometimes, when i press about 1/4 down in the gas and i start to pass 2, 3 grand.. she starts popin and hesitating. what do u guys thinnk ?

FPR gauge...
I guess you don't have one of these.
It would help you troubleshoot a possible fp problem. At least it is cheap too. That is what I would look at given your info. Your ignition stuff looks more than adequate. I imagine with nitrous you gotta have an adjustable fpr. Just crank the fpr up a few psi and drive it around and look for white smoke, then your running rich. Then, back it off a couple of psi. A/F gauges are a rip-off imo. The only real a/f gauge would be one that is attached via individual thermocouple bungs in the header. Those multi-colored things are just not accurate enough. Good luck.

I think you should try more timing. You should be pushing as much timing as possible without detination (pinging). 15 already sounds like a good amount but I've heard of stangs running good with up to 18 and 19 degrees. Test and tune and a FPR is vital.
Last but not least, vacuum leaks, see if you can hook a vacuum gauge on and let us know what it reads at idle and how it performs when under load.

It definitely sounds like a fuel pressure issue to me.

I'd probably back it down a few lbs. But if it takes 44 then just leave it there. Does it blow black smoke? Is it any harder to start?

Air/Fuel Gauge
Hozer, So I should return my wideband O2 and replace it with EGT. I think the wideband in the way of tuning is the only way to go.

a/f ratio
I wouldn't run any a/f indicator.
The only way I tune is on the dyno. Set it on the dyno and leave it alone.
