Has anyone heard this rumor about the 01 Cobras?

I met a friend of a friend today who owns a body shop. He said he read in one of the newsletters he gets that Ford will not be building Cobras until 2003. I have not seen the newsletter, but asked him to get it to me - then maybe I'll believe it. Has anyone else heard this or anything else? Let me know. Thanks...Robin

As far as I know that is not true. Ford is already advertising the Cobra on their Web sites (like the SVT site). In addition, Ford has already released complete press kits for the 2001 Cobra. If it wasn't being made, I can't see them doing that now...

But, if I find out anything to back up that claim at all, I wouldn't certainly post it.

Thanks for the quick reply Dan. It's tough to know what to believe. There are soooo many conflicting stories. I ordered mine Jan 8, 00 and not once have I received any type of communication from Ford telling me about the delays, problems... I hope this is incorrect and we see them soon...Robin

I haven't heard confirmation of that at all.

FORD is advertising the 01 Cobra and several future owners over at the BlueOval News msg board have rec'vd info on build dates but no receipt dates.
