Default racing seat question

i was thinking of getting the summit race seats and the 3" Y harness or something similar. anyone have race seats in their car? with the adjusters that let the seat slide forward and backward is it still difficult to fit people in the back seat? what are the pros and cons of the race seat. i dont care about the luxury part all that much becuse i rairly go on long drives and the stock seats i have now are not all that much confortable.

what do you guys think? anyone have these? i was thinking of ordering just one set for the driver and see how it feels.

i was able to pick up a pair of honda prelude seats from an import store that just had them layin outside for about 150 bucks,..nice cloth bucket seats with recline and lumbar support, (NO MORE SLIDING BACK AND FORTH THRU THE TURNS!) all i had to do was drill a couple holes in flat steel bars to make adapting plates and then mount them to the original seat "sliders/rails" they look good and offer great comfort,..cheap too!!

If you use the Summit seat, the slide bars really do not work well with the seat, so it is better to hard mount the seat on the platform. The slider also raises the seat up quite a bit. I had to lower the seat platform in the center by welding in a new steel plate, and then mounted the seat with 3/8 inch rod stock, through the floor. As far as the 5 point "Y" belt. Unless you have a roll bar in the car, it is a bit of a problem as to where to mount the leg of the "Y" in the back. It is normally mounted to the cross bar on the main hoop. If you drag race the car, and you use the belt, it does have to be renewed every 2 years. If you don't race, then it is no problem.

Well, maybe you can tell at least a little bit from these...

Ron

PS...if you look real closely, the guy in the background has on a T-shirt with a picture of the car on it.
