Question Flowmasters bad?

I recently replaced my 98 Cobra's stock mufflers with flowmaster delta flow 40 series mufflers. Is it possible that this slowed my car down? It doesn't seem to have the power it did before, especially through 2nd gear. Of course, it could be my imagination too. Anyone have any similar experiences?

You could always take it to a shop and get some before and after dyno numbers. Just to be sure.
Oh, and if you do, let us know what happened!

Just to let anybody who is interested know...
A buddy suggested that I disconnect the battery and let the computer reset, so I did. It seems to be better, but I have no dyno numbers to support this. Things like heat and humidity could also be what I am noticing. I feel that it is unlikely that the mufflers are slowing me down.

Exclamation

Loss of backpressure can (and often does) result in loss of LOW END torque.

The delta 40s are very high flow, and while they will let your engine breate really well as the RPMs get up there, they may make it "seem" to bog at the start.

This problem is more typically seen with trucks when the owner figures they will be cool and swap over to 4" exhaust, and all of a sudden towing power is gone.

I wouldn't worry about it, as the mods increase, you will utilize that higher flowing exhaust, and will cease to notice the "lull" in the launch.
