Tremec 3550 Into A 95gt ??????
I AM PUTTING A TREMEC 3550 INTO MY 95 I PREVIOUSLY HAD IT IN MY 89LX, I HAVE A PROBLEM THOUGH, THE THROWOUT FORK IS TOO LONG, AND THE HOLE IN THE BELLHOUSING WHERE THE CLUTCH CABLE GOES DOESNT LINE UP WITH THE SPOT ON THE FORK, SO IT IS BINDING AND THE CLUTCH IS REALLY HARD TO PUT IN. MY QUESTION IS, IF I USE THE FOX BODY STYLE THROWOUT FORK WILL THAT SOLVE MY PROB. PLEASE, ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED(IM GETTING REALLY AGGRAVATED) THANKS

What bellhousing are you using? I had the same problem with my Mcleod scattershield and TKO. I had to shim the ballstud .120 to get it to line up right.

i ordered the kit from excessive motorsports and i got whatever bellhousing they have for the tremec, nothing fancy. my problem really has nothing to do with the ball stud though, i have the trans in there and it went in ok, its just the throwout fork that doesnt line up, where the hole in the bellhousing is for the clutch cable and the spot on the fork for the adjustable cable, the fork is almost 2 inches too long.

The problem with mine appeared to be the fork was too long, but the geometry was off because of the ballstud being too short. It wasnt off 2 inches though, like yours is.
If you are using your factory SN95 fork with the bell that excessive sent you, I would say that is the problem. The SN95 transmissions have a longer bell, input shaft, and input bearing retainer. It could be the fork is longer as well. What are you using for a driveshaft? Did you get yours retubed, or did you buy a spacer? I recommend getting the spacer. andy

thats another thing, they said that the driveshaft would need to be lengthened about an inch, but my driveshaft only needs to be lengthened less than a quarter of an inch, so i dont know if i even need to. i have the stock driveshaft. i have heard that the frpp aluminum ones were about 1/2 longer than the stock ones, so i think im going to get one of those so i can have the right length shaft. (i dont know if thats true though)

A buddy of mine just put a tko into his fox and the tech guy that he was talking to asked im if it was a fox or a sn he asked why after responding fox. The tech said that the sn has to use the fox fork set up because the sn is to long. hope this helps.
