More Power
Hi you all,
What is your opinion on getting the most noticable power gains for the less amount of money? Say as much under a grand as possible. Or would I be better to drop my car for now and keep saving? I would like to get as close 300hp for my 03GT as possible. It's a daily driver with lots of freeway time. I apprecriate all of your input. |

I'd recommend a set of 4.10 gears as your first mod before even working on power.
As for effective bolt-ons, upper intake plenum, underdrive pullies, timing adjuster, and crossover pipe are all good bang for the buck.

Hard to argue with results.

I agree with above. Gears first, no matter what you do. If you want MAJOR power than save for a S/C. Or go with bolt-ons

gears are good, but may be too much with a supercharger. i've been thinking about getting 4.10's installed. from what i've seen on here, they would make my rpm about 2500 at 65mph. i'm currently at 1900 rpm at 65mph with my 3.27's, so it wouldn't be a big difference.

gears are definitely a great bang for the buck, but you said its an everyday driver with a lot of freeway driving. personaly i'd go with 3.73's in that situation. but, if you dont mind a higher rev for highway driving, go with the 4.10's

4.10/3.73 = 1.099, so the revs will be 10% higher with the 4.10s than 3.73s.

It all depends on what you want. If you JUST want power, then get juice or save for a superchager
IF you want a quick car, get gears. I'd suggest an FIPK, TB, Plenum, Mac Prochamber, catback, and maybe an SCT Microtuner (this would allow you to tune for everything, advance the timing, etc....). If you wanna stay N/A, get some Stage 2 heads, and VT or Comp cams -Will

stage 2 heads? how much do they add? what is the price? where is their torque peak? are the factory heads a good match for the factory cams, or can they handle more lift or duration?
