Bad idea? DIY Centrifugal Supercharger
I've been reading these forums for a little while, but this is my first post. Anyway, I'd like to hear what you all think of this idea.
Let me preface this with the point that i'm a poor university student so I don't have an awful lot of money to throw at my car. I don't plan on kicking the heck out of it either. I just want a nice, speedy car. My car is stock with the exception of 3.55 rear end, AOD shift kit, cold air, and the stuff that doesn't matter like stereo, interior, etc. At any rate, forced induction sounds good to me, but is outlandishly expensive.. Used turbochargers are plentiful and inexpensive but I'm not up for building a full turbo manifold. Superchargers are hard to come by. It occured to me that maybe I could build a supercharger out of inexpensive parts to give me a few pounds of boost. Like the intake side of a t04 turbo mated with a high-rpm gearset and a pulley. DIY supercharger. Last edited by mtv not bullets; 11-11-2003 at 03:03 AM.. |
