Default cold air intake

ok I need some opinions i am thinking of what to to do, i thought of the cold air intake system to start off, then replacing my stock throttle body with a 70mm Throttle body or the Throttle body first the then Cold air intake second either or. After that i am going to upgrade my mass air meter and my fuel injectors to ethier 24 or 30lb while i am at it. To get the best performance i figure you should get all those things done ya know.
Now if i just get a k&n filter and mass air meter would that be the same of getting the whole cold air induction system? Well if anyone has any tips or advice on these upgrades or any other ones actually that would halp thanx

On a stock setup, gears and pulleys should be your first mods...

If you're running a manual tranny, add a short throw shifter...

Yup. Gears. get those first. I really don't think going to 24 or 30 pound injectors is going to be good on a stock set-up. The 19#'s should be OK.

Cold air intake is worth nothing and will NOT work with most MAF sensors. The T/B is basically worthless unless you are using a S/C. And the bigger injectors are totally fruitless unless you have the S/C or nitrous. Gears, Pullies, Exhaust, K&N with Maf, then a chip to set it all off. That to me is the best bang for the buck untill you start talking S/Cing the motor.

Just my 2 cents.

P.S. - don't be fooled by the ads claiming 10 - 20 HP gains with bolt ons. It just aint there

ya i have 2 chamber delta flows on so far they sound great nice deep tone...... the fuel injectors was just a thought but i would think the Throttle body, Mass air Meter, and intake system would be good add ons then i was going to add a chip and some pullies, but i'm probaly wrong i only have basic knowledge of all this stuff ya know so i am trying to figure out the best way to go Now would just adding a k&n filter and Mass air meter do anything? and just leaving out the TB and the whole CAI system work alright?

If you are interested in performance, and not just how shiny your engine compartment is... Buy a K&N replacement filter and put it in your stock induction setup. Then take the money you save and get some 3.73s and a shifter. If you still have cash get some pulleys.

Or you can get a CAI kit with a new T/B and keep telling yourself how you noticed more power between 4000 and 5500 rpm....

In other words, you can get another 5-10 rwhp with a CAI and T/B, or you can make the most of the power you are already making....

K& N, upgrade exhaust, Underdrive pulleys, short throw shifter(or a transgo shift kit) and a cold air intake are all a good cheep start. You can also pull off your silencer.

would it be worth it or would it work if you put a mass air meter on your stock intake system?

I think the C&L kit comes with a mass air meter, K&N, and heat shield. That's the route I would go and forget about changing the throttle body or getting a cold air intake.

I have added the following mods to mine which are listed below. And I can see a increase in h.p. Going to get a bigger T.B. and MAF. Also A Chip is in the works. Not going to worry to much about a S/C just yet. Putting SVO Roller Rockers in it this weekend. Replacing the stock ones. Stock 3.27 gears do me just fine. But once I start changing more stuff around, then I will be getting 3.73's. Had them in my 91 Coupe before I totaled it.

if youre talking about the FIPK Gen II dont except any increase in power from it...only time youll notice it is in the cold...aside from that, it adds a cool look to the engine to not have the stock pipe there and having an open filter....but its not worth the $200 i spent on it...pullies would increase hp much better, and they dont even add much..lol...best bolton is headers/midpipe for these cars...

I'm probably betraying my ignorance here, but I thought that rockers (roller or otherwise) were not used in overhead cam engines.

Am I off my rocker?
