Is this a good idea?
I want to supercharge my 03 GT. The only mod I have now is a A/T Flowmaster catback. I was looking into getting 3.73 gears, BBK long tube headers and a BBK H pipe with cats and maybe a few other bolt ons prior to supercharging. I want to run 6-8 psi with the stock internals. Would that be safe? I thought about getting forged internals but it looks to be very expensive and the car is practically brand new. I hate the thought of spending alot of money replacing almost new engine parts. My long term plan is to forge the motor at around a 100,000 miles or so then up the boost. What do you guys think?

6-8psi of boost should be fine on the stock motor, especially one with next to no miles on it. You should be ok with running up to 10psi on the stock internals.

You should b fine with 6-8lbs of boost. But , like any power added car, the key to it is in the tune of the car. Your best bet wil be get a chip burned/tuned.

Not sure but I think chip and dyno tune would be $500 ballpark cost. Is that about right?

$500 is about right for a dyno tune/chip burn, maybe a little more depending on location. For something you will be driving a ton, which it sounds like you will, I would definately reccomend getting the tune spot on before you go beating on it. I guess I should take my own advice 6-8psi on your GT's stock internals will be fine, but the HP bug WILL bite you, and you'll keep wanting more and more.... trust me
