I just bought a procharger supercharger with a 17 pis boost and 3 core intercooler. My question is how much boost should I be running it at SAFELY? I was told that betweet 9-12 will be fine. Just wanted some of your imput. Thanks, Jason.

it really matters more about your engine than the super charger .

two similiar engines with similiar superchargers might see diffrent boost numbers.

can your engine handle the flow is more of the question than the supercharger.

say you put it on a stock 302 the impeler could get damaged if you didnt have a blow off valve.

on a properly set up engine 9-12 should be fine as long as all the complementery systems are up to it fuel exhaust ect ,

do you have a blow off valve ?

Thanks for the response. Yes the supercharger does come with a blow off valve. I've got a few upgrades like cobra intake, 65mm throttle body, 80mm mass air, 24 lb injectors, fuel pressure reg. Flowmaster 3 chamber exhaust. Do you think that I should get bigger injectors while I am at it or with the 24's be fine. thanks, Jason.

I would deffinately get bigger injectors and get a chip burned for the the supercharger and if you can afford it get 3 setting 's no charger 12lbs and 17lbs setting for boost would be a good idea

I would set the fuel system up for the higher boost because its just a pully change and you might want to do it one day and then theres no worries.

I'd agree with bigger injectors. Once you get used to 9-12 psi, you'll want more. It's addicting!! If you go with bigger injectors now, you won't have to worry about them down the line.

If you haven't already done so, I'd also get a bigger fuel pump. I'd recommend the GSS340. It's a 255 lph hi-pressure pump. The fuel pump is the same deal as injectors. Do it once and be done with it. There's no fun in dropping the fuel tank multiple times to keep upgrading fuel pumps.

I was already looking into a bigger fuel pump so I guess now is a good time to upgrade. What size injectors should I go with, I was thinking around 36-42? Just curious.

36's are getting very hard to find for a decent price. You could pick up some 42's for the same $$$.

Is it true you can never have too much injector? So long as the computer or MAF is calibrated for it?

To a certain extent. You can actually go overkill with the injectors and take away from the drivability of the car if you don't have enough motor for them to feed.

If yuo are running a FMU, don't forget to order the recal kit to match your injector size when you decide on a size. IMO 36lbers will be fine. Vortech will bet their lives that 19lbers support 10psi just fine with the upgraded pump and FMU. Good luck

17 psi on a stock block spells doom. Either way you need bigger injectors, (I'd recommend 42lb) MAF recalibrated, and bigger pump. ~Brian

About a month ago I ran 17 psi with 24# injectors, AFR heads, water injection, and 102 octane. Take my word for it, get bigger injectors. The pistons are ok but, that poor little head gasket(rest in peace) was not so lucky.
