OK, thats cool. Well, go ahead and do the easy stuff first. Do gears and a cat-back. The TB and MAF would be good addtions too.

To place you solidly in the 12's on street tires, you should get a good set of heads if you want to stay NA. Of course, slicks will make it easier and will require less HP to turn the numbers. Really, there's a half dozen ways to get you there, so really, what sort of budget are you on?

Just for reference, one of my old setups ran a 12.80 with stock ported heads, intake, tb, X-cam, 73 MAF, 3.73's, and slicks.

Cool

I want my car to run 12's and drive it everyday, Im Assistant Service Manager here in Augusta Ga at a big dealer so I get a pretty good deal on parts. I will run a set of et streets on the car if I have too. I'm not going to race the car that much but would like to know that it will do 12 secs Im really thinking about entering the car in some local shows since it is such a clean car. But there is a guy here that has a 1997 z-28 that wants to run me. I ran the car like it is with the 3:55 gear and h-pipe with 2 chamber flows and ran a 14.36 so I have a ways to go. I would like to keep a modist budget so my fiance wont kill me I already bought the car before I told her!!!!

That time is about right for that year car and mods listed. It's a little heavier than the Fox bodied cars, so you have that working against you.

If you have access to Ford parts at a good price, get a set of heads, 1.7 rockers,GT-40 intake or Cobra intake, cam,and TB. All that stuff adds up to more than 2k retail, but maybe you can get a good employee discount.

Those items alone will put you deep in the 13s....maybe the 12's with some good driving. A little more gear like 3.73s wouldn't hurt either.

BTW, the Z-28 would spank you pretty hard as of right now. Add those mods and he might be in for a little surprise.

That sure is an awesome feeling huh pearl!?

I ran at a test&tune at Gateway and my first run was against a '97 Camaro SS. I overheard him tell someone it was his first time at a track. I also noticed it was a stick car. Even so, I was preparing to get spanked. It was a test & tune so it was all heads up, but I beat him off the tree and stayed ahead the whole time! I ran a 14.8 (It was a HOT day) and he ran a 14.9

Could granny shifting make a '97 SS that slow or do you think he had something wrong with it? We both had 2.4x 60' times
He had a quicker 330, 660, and 1000. My 1/8 mph was actually 1mph faster than him though. That was quite the confusing run.

But hell. I spanked a '97 Camaro SS! Woot!
