nitrous jetting....
i am using a sort of home built kit for my n20 system. it's basically the nitrous works kit only using a NOS fogger instead of a plate.
im not sure the brand of the gas solonoid (the previous owner painted them black to conceal them!) but the fuel solonoid is a compucar, anyway....i was wondering the proper jetting combo for a 100 shot and a 125 shot. i had it jetted at 47(g) and 53(f) at the track and only picked up 6mph in my trap. NOS said that this was the jetting for a 100 shot, but c'mon, 6MPH?!?!? i only sprayed thru 2nd and 3rd though ALSO....recently, when i spray, the fuel pressure gradually drops to almost 30PSI!! this worries me, please help. btw: stock 91 LX 5.0. stock fuel pump that whines...... |

you need to call the manufacture of the solonoid and they can tell you what to JET it. also your fuel pump probably is gettin weak so Buy a 255 intank.. and a new fuel filter when you spray is is it Black Smoking? If not I like to add a Jet higher to make it richer.. Richer = Safer less likely to fry the pistons and rings. also what plugs are you running?> and what timing?

I'm presuming you're using a single nozzle in front of the throttle body, and the system is set up to run WET. The jetting 47/53 that was recommended is for the NOS DRY system. For a wet setup, you should run 47N/30F, with a static fuel pressure of 40-45psi. That is the jetting for a 100hp shot. For 125hp, try 55N/39F.
Before you do anything else, replace the stock fuel pump. Judging by the whining, and the loss of fuel pressure, that pump is on the way out. If it gives up while you're running nitrous, your engine will lean out and you will burn plugs, or worse, pistons. |
