well the 4.6 is a pretty decent motor 2v or 4v but any motor with lots of boost should at least be disassembled and rebuilt if just rings bearings ect. by being totally stock I mean you havent torn down the engine and so there could be some silly problems come bite you in the but. A simple rebuild with ARP studs and Bolts would ease my mind alot.

for the pistons dished lowers the compression ration flat top are flat, but both could have the same cc.

after a good rebuild blue printing the stock short block can take more than the rest of the car. basic port matching of the intake and heads is all that you should need going the blower route.

Also how often are you at those high boost high rpm levels ?

I rebuild my engine every 2 years I try and do a major recondition every year didnt last year and can really tell right now , I have to pull do rings and bearings and also will replace all the gaskets.

interesting bilster...

so rings, and arp main and head studs at hte very least.....

I'll be going full forged internals after i get my blower, but i think i can swing the studs and rings before hand. bearings a must too? or can that wait till i redo the rotating assembly...

you dont know till you pull it apart.

everything could be fine but untill you inspect it you never know.

case in point i kept chasing a timing issue that untill i pulled the engine apart i found a timing gear with a couple of busted teeth.

i chased that timing problem for 4 months.

you could just take it apart and reinstall it for all we know right now or you could find a main cap missing a stud.

if your going to build everything up I would wait untill you have everything that you want before slapping the blower on just my 2cents.
