too rich

I have a '87 mustang that I converted to a '90 for the mass air. my parts list consists of 255 lph pump, 12psi procharger, bbk fuel regulator, and 30 lbs injectors with mass air meter. My problem is my idle goes up to 1800 than down to 400 rpms. sometimes it will idle at 800 rpms but I cant make it do it, it does this when it wants. I think it is running to rich but I cant turn the fuel down under 29 lbs at idle. Can someone help me,

Did you reset the idle when you added all these parts? You should be able to run the stock FP....about 38-40 psi.

Rich / Lean Thats here nor there. If its a mass air car, you should have a TPS and IAC Sensor/Motor. Did you set the TPS module?? Check for a leak around the Idle Air Control, or a vacuum leak somewhere in the system. That usually causes the symptoms you are seeing.

Also check to see the MAF is sealed, and no air is leaking around the air intake tract, that will also produce a surge, and whacky idle.

I once had the MAF screen gasket leak on mine and it would do the same as your car, but mine was so bad it would die after idling about 2 minutes.

Set the TB at 0.010" + 1 full turn.
Verify that the TPS is near but not over 1-volt.
Beyond this, you could try adding the IAC bleed plate or even better yet have a tuner look at the problem. Most likely, if your tuner could add some ISC nuetral idle air to your tune it would solve the problem. Idle is the most difficult part of tuning, but once it's solved the driveability is much improved.

Amen, I agree.
