Question about Ford Engine Management, and Turbo

Hi, I currently have a 1996 Ford Escort LX with the 1.9 SOHC and a five speed. I cant afford my 2K5 Mustang, yet... Have to graduate from engineering school first.

Anyways, Over on http://FEOA.net we have a debate going, and if its true, it would make turboing the 1.9 SOHC super easy.

We *Think* that if we swap a 5.0, or 4.6 MAF in place of the stock MAF, and then swap in 4 38lb injectors (in place of the Mustangs 8, 19 # injectors, since 4 38's would flow the same as 8 19's), we can run the stock ECU and Fuel Pressure regulator without having to mod anything else. We're hoping it will idle correctly, since the MAF *should* see a smaller mount of air and adjust accordingly, and then, as the boost rises, the 4 38# injectors will flow enough for the added airflow of a turbo. I'm not sure inf the system will work or not, but others are positive, and others think it wont. I was hopng someone here knew more about the Ford engine management system and shed some light on wether it would work on it. If it did, it would make turboing the Escort super easy.

If not, possibly a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator woudl be all it takes to make the system work right...

We have one member that built his turbo system for under a grand, and makes 212 wheel horsepower and 262 wheel lb-ft of torque, which is alot in a 2300 lb car

Any help you guys could provide would be greatly appreciated.
