Tell us what you have, have you had problems with emissions before? EFI mustangs are very easy to pass.

well you got your o2 sensors, do a tune-up on it depending on when the last time you did it. check out the simple things on it. are you throwing any check engine codes?

good luck passing with the X cam. but my friend worked at an emissions shop here in Cali, and they said belive it or not a fresh oil change makes a big difference. they tested before and after. failed, oil change passed.

Do you have cats? They are an important factor in passing any emissions test, both visual and smog check. If you have them on, make sure they are clean.

Just my opinion, but I don't think there's a snowball's chance in hell that a car can pass with the X303 camshaft. The overlap is gonna drive the HC levels up so far it won't be funny...especially with that speed density pooter. No way. Mass Air would have a better chance, but if it's a chassis dyno test, F-no.

I took a test on my 92' in Houston, and it passed everyting except the low idle hydrocarbons. That was with shorty's, off-road, flows, 73mm MA, 70mm TB, pulleys, 1.72 rockers.

In chicago, you will not pass without cats. When you register your car, you'll get an emissions paper in the mail about 6-9 months after registering (your license plates). i had cats on my car and i failed miserably. I bought a new factory 4 cat h-pipe, and passed with flying colors. |

De-tune the hell out of the motor. Even then, the overlap on that cam may be a huge problem. I'm glad we don't have emissions testing here in NE, what a headache!!
