nitrous + blower question?
i keep hearing about people that when they spray their blown cars...their boost guage will go to 20+lbs. just wondering why that is.
because: i have a dart block 347 w/ys (73/30cogs)@18lbs, and i was wondering if a 50-75shot would help me out...or would that be a death wish for my motor...and wallet. i was thinking that with the nitrous cooling down the air i might be able to run about the same amount of timing, while still gaining the 50-75 horse that im spraying. IF YOU LOST WHAT IM TRYING TO SAY.....JUST ASK |

it would realy depend on where your boost gauge is , if your reading manifold boost (back pressure ) or at the exhaust side
of a waste gate. the best is to inject n2o into the intercooler for cooling things down, I still have the timing pulled when ive used n20 with the old turbo set up and motor. but i can understand the theory Gale banks used n2o to cool the exterior of his intercoolers so it wasnt getting injested by the engine just cooling the charge.(my current purge valve is aimed at my intercooler) I used it to offset any lag.at the start and it shut off after 5000 rpms I would try the smaller jets with the same timing at the top end of a run and check plugs. just remember your exhaust might already be taxxed with 18lbs of boost.

ps i wouldnt inject before the blower with a centrifugal type expantion around the impeller can make things go boom.
cold gas gets heated expands quick backpressure slowes impeller down impwller hits wall spqrk n2o present not nice at all
