Which size injectors?
Ok, I`ve decided to get larger injectors and lose the fmu. The procharger can be pullied at 14 or 20. Would a 42 lb injector work for both if I ever change out the pulley? Or should I go larger since i`m upgrading?
Thanks for replies

The right injectors.
Just to give you an idea, I have 30# injectors on my 94 GT. I have a powerdyne with 9psi. I have a few other bolt-ons but my motor is stock. You should go with 36# injectors if you plan to run the 14psi. I have my fuel pressure turned down to 34 psi. Good luck!!! Let me know how you make out.

Have to disagree
Hope you don't mind me chiming in to disagree with your speed shop, but I don't want to hear about you blowing the engine because you were lean.
I don't think that's enough injector for a 20 psi set up. Running a Procharger at 20 psi on a 331 cubic inch motor is going to make awesome power and comensurate fuel demands. If I were you I'd give Jimmy LaRocca a call. He is expert with Prochargers and tuning. I think he's going to tell you its time for low impedance injectors at about 72#/hr. Can I also suggest you consider a more aggressive cam and a 75 mm throttle body? |

I dont mind at all, thats why I posted my question. I decided to stay with 42`s after seeing the injector price difference. I doubt I will ever change the pulley anyway. I agree about the cam though. After I dyno the engine with the procharger I might make a swap.
Thanks for the info though

At 20lb of boost you will also need to start thinking about head gaskets and things of that nature. Is that an O-ringed DSS motor. Just wondering. I just got done installing a Super Pro 306 in mine just curious on how its holding up.
Thanks, Brad |

I dont plan on ever changing the pulley to 20#. I`m pretty sure this will be the end of perf. mods to the car. Its not o-ringed. I`d rather blow a gasket than more expensive stuff. As far as the 331 goes, I love it. Even with 8.6:1 comp. I can break the Nittos during 2nd gear, Hopefully I can get it dynoed before and after the procharger install.
Everything good with your 306?

Everything is good as far as the whole motor goes. I have only had it in for about a month now so it may be a little early to tell. Just got the charger back on like two weeks ago. Took it out for a good ride today. Now its time for it to snow and get cold here in WI. Seems like everything is still there. Good luck with the combo keep me updated on your project. mell_o_man@yahoo.com
