anyone weighed their stock and aftermarket hoods?
I'll have my R style hood on wednesday and was just wonderin if any of you guys have measured the weight of the stock hood and then weighed and aftermarket fiberglass one, i know that the different aftermarket ones will weigh different, but can't be more than like +/- 4 or 5 lbs
I know there have been some posts on here asking about the quality of Design Concepts hoods, i'll let you all know as soon as i get it, later

You're getting a new hood? Cool, can't wait to see it. Are you going to have it painted any time soon?
Maybe I could talk you into letting me do some flames or something on that beast before you paint the whole car again

im not sure when i'll have a chance to get it painted, my uncle is the painter in my granpa's body shop but i dont want to bother him again so soon to paint, he just recently did my decklid and spoiler
i like the look of one solid color, especially on coupes, so i'd rather not have any flames on it, sorry man, but if you wanna paint it solid black for me then that would be nice

Crap, wish I had weighted mine. The new stalker ram air felt heavier then the old fiberglass one though.

i got it today and it weighed in right at about 29lbs, im sure thats a few more than that harwood of yours because they are quite a bit lighter supposedly
It's a Design Concepts hood and the quality is suprisingly excellent. I can't see any waves or cracks as of yet, and it doesn't look like i'll need to trim a whole lot. Just a little around the headlight area maybe. I'm gonna put it on tomorrow and see how it fits. Hopefully I'll find someone with a digital camera soon to post some pics of it.

Have you weighed your stock hood to see what it weighs?

forgot to say that the fit is EXCELLENT, i'll just have to block it a tiny bit and trim very little around the headlight area
i would definately reccomend Design Concepts to anyone looking to buy a hood on a budget.
