Sounds like a Great Idea. The Novi 1000 would be my suggestion. Can be had for under 2k and adds 100HP.

I would reccomend a S-trim they make great power and they are very reliable you rarely hear of someone having problems with them. If you look you should be able to find one used for around 1500-2000 depending on what they come with.

I am kind of partial to the Novi 1000 since I run one on my car. If you have any questions go to www.superchargerhelp.com and ask around over there. They have message forums for the Paxton, Vortech, ATI, Powerdyne, and Roots/Twin Screw blowers. Really great for info. The older Novi 1000 that I am running can push 15psi, and it only cost me $1700 new. Something to keep in mind.

a Paxton Novi 1000 or 2000, or a Vortech S or SQ trim would be your best bet.

Stay away from ATI or Powerdyne, they both suck.

I had a powerdyne BD-11A...it was ok. I only saw 6#'s with the 9# pulley. Their service is better. Now Vortech and Paxton have such better prices, the powerdyne doesn't have the price advantage that gathered them the most sales.

I have a S-Trim now. I like it. More boost. But more boost means more maintenance and broken parts. I have rebuild my rear, replaced axels, new clutch, and redone my synchros...but that is the price you pay for more power....with my powerdyne, I only had to sway my tranny from a T-5 to a Tremec.

Here is my opinion.

Get a sticker on your car, it makes more than enough power...and for a fraction of the price.

I am runing a sc-trim and love it. $1640 and easily upgraded. It comes pullied for 6psi but all you have to do is switch to a 7inch crank pulley for 10-11psi. They are capable of a max of 20psi which gives you more room to grow than the Novi 1000.

Entry level no question SC-trim. They are more efficient than S trims also, and are capable of the same peak power output.

For a bigger blower I'm partial to the Novi 2000, but I'm biased The 10 rib setup is nice and it has a VERY nice tensioner setup.

I agree for a big blower the Novi 2000 is outstanding but then again so is the YS-trim and now there is the YSI trim should be interesting to see how these workout (since I will be upgrading to a big blower next year).

Lightbulb novi-2000

i my self would go with the novi 2000. its a bit pricey but its a great deal. it adds 48% hp and 30%torque with boots running at 8-10 psi. its better if you get the the compleate packege. that comes with
Novi 2000 Supercharger
1/2" Thick Billet Aluminum Bracket
Cast Aluminum Discharge Tubes
Fuel Control Unit
In-Tank Fuel Pump
K&N Air Filter
By-pass Valve
Crank Pulley
Oil Lines
All hardware and Fasteners
Instruction Manual

I've personally owned a few different Vortech and Paxton blowers, and I have numerous friends with Vortech's and Paxton's. Nothing but great experiences! Very fast and reliable cars with no blower issues. On the other hand... I know a couple of guys that have had ATI products they have had nothing but blower problems. They affectionately refer to them as "A.T.LIES"
