Want some Turbo's baby
I am trying to find out how difficult it is to hook up twin turbos on a fox body 1989 GT. Do they make headers for Stangs to accomodate turbos? I don't know much about getting this done right now but I know the turbo racers are super fast. I am going to be getting a motor to handle the job and I know a bit about tuning so really I just need some info on how to hook these babies up! I know folks who can bend and fabricate piping so that should not be a problem. Mainly just fitting all the goods in the engine compartment is the major issue. Anyone who can provide information I would greatly appreciate your input. Thanks

There are many things you have to understand before you put a turbo on, most people think you can just go into your garage and put some bent tubes togather and it will all work perfect but you have to use mandrel bent tubes, so all the air will flow, and the right blow off valve with the right intercooler. I have saw many people just buy 2 turbo's from a junk yard from one of the ford turbo cougars and then they put it all togather and they wonder why their cars only fun high 12's. Its b/c they dont know what they are doing, I am not saying you dont know what your doing i am just trying to prevent another name added to the list. Check out some of these sites and then do a search for mustang turbo kits, that will help you out alot.

Yes cougar turbo's will fit but you have to get the right size ones, i believe they switch at some point in time from the smaller .43ar to the larger .63 ar, the .63 is what you want. Look at this link and it shows somebody that has done it
Cant get the link to show up but goto the turbomustangs site and then goto featured cars and look at the red fox body its June 2003 10.9 at 123 with stock 302. Hope this helps Matt Erich |
