Cool Springs..........which ones to get?

I'm thinking about putting a new set of springs on the ol' stang. It's been "bottoming out" (in dips and bumps, the back end just drops down and bounces off the pinion snubber) in the rear. I put new shocks and struts (Gabriel w/VST) on and it still does it. I've only got 44,000 miles on the clock, actually less miles than that on the car cause the speedo runs fast with the 3.73s. Anyways, what are the best ones to use? I don't want to go much over 1.25 inches. In fact a 1.25 inch drop is about the max I want to go. Much over 1.25 inches and you move your center of gravity too much and lose handling and performance. How are the Eibach? Anyone having any trouble with them, such as bottoming out? How's the ride? How about the Ford C springs? I heard you also have to cut the rears on the C springs a little. Anyone done this and what are the results? Where are places to get good prices at? Let me know what ya'll think.

For the C springs you have to cut one turn off the rear ones to get the car level. A lot of places sell them pre-cut.

I have the Steeda Sport springs. Lowers the car about 1.25 inches, and has good ride quality over all but the roughest roads.

Haven't heard any real complaints or real complements from people with the Eibachs, so I guess they are pretty good also.

Cool

What shocks and struts are you running on your stang? I need some springs that will work with the current struts/shocks on mine. Will those Steedas work good with my shocks and struts? I've been thinking about getting the Steedas, too. They are progressive, right?

I have the Tokicos Illuminas which are designed to run on lowered vehicals and they work well.

The Steeda Sport Springs are progressive, but steeply so. Meaning you don't feel the little dumps, but they really let you feel the big ones.

I don't know anything about Gabriel shocks and struts. But even if they aren't happy running lowered, you can fanagle it with a good set of CC plates.

But you're right, you do not want to go lower then 1.25 inches drop, unless you replace the K-Member or you will upset the suspension geometry. Having your tie-rod pushing your wheel one way and your A-arm pushing it the other is not a good idea.
