FAST vs. Chip
I currently am chipped in my 88 LX with 347 and D1-R. My local shop is leading me to believe that with a chip-tune i leave allot of power on the table because you do not have access to all the things you do with the FAST system.
My car is primarily a street car with a big blower- it makes Dismal horsepower for the tune it has... 28 degrees ramping to 21 total and 18# from the d-1R... it makes a whopping 431/522 at the rear wheels. We are all under the assumption that with FAST we could pick up the 100+ hp that my tune seems to be missing. Obviously $$ is an isssue so i would like to know if you think that you can achieve a sharp-as Fast tune with a Good chip tuner. Truthfully- the ex-street racer in me just wants th throw a 50 shot on there and be done. thanks for the help.

Go with the FAST system... something you can grow into and it allows for tuning changes that become necessary with different track and weather conditions. I would agree that there is some more HP lurking in your combo with tuning alone... go for it!
