|  Gas Gauge Issue after Fuel Pump Install I Installed a new High-Volume Fuel pump in my 89 LX and now my gas gauge is acting funny. The needle stays near the full mark for most of the tank of gas, and then quickly drops to empty when there's only a few gallons left in the tank. Anybody ever have a similar problem? Thanks, Phil |

Is it easy to pinch the wires when reinstalling the tank! I did the job a couple of years ago so I'm trying to think back...........I don't remember worrying about clearance or pinching wires when I lifted the tank back up. I hope I didn’t damage anything driving the car that way for so long. Actually it’s been nearly a couple of years since I put the new fuel pump in but I don’t drive the car very much. It’s not a daily driver and it gets stored during the winter months. Hopefully I can get to it one of these weekends since it’s not a big job. Thanks for the tip about the pinched wires. I’ll definitely inspect those wires when I drop the tank! Phil | |

| Re: Gas Gauge Issue after Fuel Pump Install The way that tank is built, and the way it has to go up into the car, it's SUPER easy to pinch the wires, and/or halfway unplug them. I've done it many times myself!  Only problem is, you have to drop the tank again to check on them.  Good luck, let us know what you find out.

| Re: Gas Gauge Issue after Fuel Pump Install Never thought of that, I bought my car about 5 years ago and it's done that same thing ever since, the guys who had it before me put a 255lph pump in. I bet that's what happened.....I was just glad it at least let me know when I had a few gal left!
