Default Transmission Fluid in '91??

Alright now this may seem like an obvious question, but I really don't know what to do. I need to put some transmission fluid in my '91 Mustang GT, but I can't find where to put it at...

I recently bought the car from a guy, and he didn't have the owners manual...and he had no idea where it went either. Can anyone help me out?? Thanks!

well u didnt say it was a 5 speed or an auto so im guessing its a 5 speed cuz theres no under hood dipstick....to add trans fluid in to a 5 speed u have to jack the car up both front and back so the car is level....now look on the transmission on the passenger side of it there are 2 plugs 1 is on the bottom and there is a upper 1...take the top 1 out and fill it untill the fluid starts to come outwait till i stops comming out and its full

Oh, then it's safe to pour in the dipstick with a funnel. Good luck.

Unhappy Re: Transmission Fluid in '91??

And it is a good think you asked people that know. Which is what I should have done. Mine was making a noise and I kept trying to figure out how to put transmission fluid in it. No one could tell me. Finally someone told me it was on the transmission. This was about 15 minutes before it started smoking and totally blew up. Now I have been without my car for almost 3 months because the cost to rebuild the tranny is more than I can afford and finding a used one is almost impossible. Until I do, my tennis shoes will have to do.
