Default 0 lash????

Hi
I am really hoping some one can tell me exactly what does 0 lash mean on a roller rocker
I'm putting SVO 1.72 roller rockers, stud mount(with the hex head bolt)on and I need some advice how much to torque them down.
Thanks

0 lash is the point where there is no gap between the rocker/pushrod/lifter arrangement.
There are a couple different opinions on "where" exactly it is. Some say that you tighten down the rocker while spinning the corresponding pushrod between 2 fingers, and feel for when it just starts to get some resistance. Others say to move the pushrod up and down while tightening until there is no more movement.
Me, I kinda do a little bit of both, and it always works for me.

good luck

-Drew

What fiveoh said, then youll want to tighten them another 1/4 to 1 turn more. There are varying opinions on that but try 1/2 turn moe and that should be close

Your original post is sort of confusing. Do you have stud mount or pedestal mount? I don't understand what you mean by "head head on".

If they are pedestal mount, you need to torque to about 18 ft-lbs, but you have to reach that torque in 1/4 to 1 turn after zero lash. If you can't reach the torque in that given range, then you'll either need to add or remove shimming beneath the pedestal.

If you've got pedestal mount, then the torque to preload is irrelevant. You'll turn the poly-lock 1/4 to 1 turn past zero lash then lock down the poly-lock as tight as you can get it.

I'm sure you meant stud mount the second time right Jeff? Hehehe, must have been another early morning post.
