Question 1/4 mile 3.73 or 4.10

I currently have 3.73's in my cobra wondering if 4.10 would be better for 1/4 mile racing. I want wheels up launches and to be topped out in fourth gear at the end of the 1/4 mile. I don't want to shift before the traps. My current combo is a 331 forged pistons, h-beam rods, steel crank, Edelbrock Victor jr heads, motorsport z-cam, ported cobra intake. Currenty running M/T 26/10/15 slicks. The car is used alot on the street but I can keep my highway speed down. Thanks for all your input

WHat are you trap speed's now? What Suspension you have that will make as much or more likey to get the wheels up on the car.

Default Um Horse Power

Wow,

You have raised many questions suspension, and gearing, even a shouting match can- not answer all of these but, I will add my two cents, just cuz!

Loose as much weight up front as possible, run 90/10 up front, loose your sway bar, run 50/50 in the back, with a good set of springs, run a locker or spool them up. Gears in the 4:10 plus range 4:30-4:56 will make things go quicker. Keep the weight down with your tire and wheel combinations as well. Move your battery and anything you can to the trunk.
Weigh you car on a good set of scales each wheel do a starting weight, and start transfering weight until you change the balance point by moving it rearward, not to much you don't want to do a wheel stand all the way down the track, now remember this, once you make some of these changes the car, will handle badly on the street. The front end will feel light and it will be more reactive steer wise, but the balance has changed and it will nolonger want to corner, like it once did. But the front tires will come off the ground. Sounds easy huh. Oh get a roll cage if you don't already have one, with this much twisting you will need the added strength.
So still interested?

I guess on the wheels up, I'll wait for spring and see If my combo has the power and car is light enough. I'll have lakewood 90/10 up front and 50/50 rear also have moroso trick front and rear drag springs. I do have a fiberglass hood and aluminum heads aslo be putting the battery in the trunk to lighten the front. I guess I'm more concerned with gear ratio I'm leaning toward the 4.10 to keep the rpm's high and work the cam a little better. Thanks for the reply's so far.

my friend 85 coupe went from 373 to 410 (t-5Z 5spd), his e.t. really didnt change, I do like them, they feel better on a car that gets run on the track mostly, he was on e.t streets, and lost traction, but one wheel was off the ground when he hooked, was a light car, but it was lowered and had a harder time getting the front end up (no cage) you could see his car tweaking, and pulling right to left real violent, he is at 6k in 4th going through traps, his car pulls to 6800 rev limiter, and has a victor jr. intake with a 650 dp.
