i just got my flowmaster 2 chambers on...OMG

wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, and wow, oh yeah, and wow!!!!!!! i didn't expect them to be THAT loud. OMG it's loud as hell! It could be that it just sounds faster but my 2002 mustang GT sure as hell feels faster. thanks for the input on exhaust questions i had before...so far K & N filter and exhaust done, next week = tints :)

Hammer 08-07-2002 04:53 PM

Congrats...
Just make sure you don't come home at 2 AM revving your car up to 5k rpm...

There's a kid in an LS1 down the street who does that all the time... drives me insane.

Guess he's just pissed because I beat him at a light once... ;)

MineralGray02K 08-07-2002 04:58 PM

lol nice...Okay, so far K & N drop in, and flowmasters....no warantee voided yet..what's next on the mods list?

Titan 08-07-2002 09:04 PM

Glad you like it; like I said, I love mine. If you want louder, you can always do something about those six catalytic converters...

coolie1 08-08-2002 06:12 AM

next put a gear in it 373 or 410 and u will really see a differance

PonyPride 08-08-2002 01:02 PM

Flowmasters

Where did u order them from and how much $$$ were they, i think its time i ordered some too :)

SteveGT 08-08-2002 02:28 PM

Get gears, 4.10's w/ speedo calibrator. You don't need the calibrator, but you odometer will thank you if you get one. You can get gears installed for about the cost of an h-pipe w/ cats alone.

Titan 08-08-2002 04:21 PM

You think you like your exhaust now, give it about 3000 miles until you break those things in...it sounds really good. About the gears, I bought 3.73's because I heard they were the best for a daily driver 5-speed. I also heard that 4.10's were best for automatics, but would not recommend for a 5-speed. Like I said, depends on how much you drive it and how much you're willing to spend on gas.

MineralGray02K 08-08-2002 04:24 PM

I got them from summit for $60 a piece, and meinakee welded them on for me for $70.. What gears come stock in the 02 GT with a 5 speed? I thought i already had 373? Gears would DEFINATLY void warantee, but i'm not gonna let voiding the warantee stop me...but what else is a basic mod i could do? Pulleys? what else?

Titan 08-08-2002 08:07 PM

As basic, you mean not supercharger??? You can put on a bigger throttle body (70mm), and bigger MAF (80mm), you can do pulleys, you can do gears (no, stock is like 2.73 or something), you can do electrical (chip, ignition, spark plugs and wires), and you can also mess with the suspension and control arms for smoother rides. Mustangs are notoriously easy to bolt on 500 horsepower, depending on the amount of money you are willing to spend. Check out Hammer's user ride or 98steedaGt's user ride. I've read both of those and they have done most any kinda mod you can imagine. If you want to know what to do to a car, look at theirs. As far as the warranty...like I said, mine's topped 50K miles, so I wouldn't know what was on a warranty.

apenn 08-08-2002 10:36 PM

Later than '99 GT's have 3.27's in them as stock.

coolie1 08-09-2002 06:23 AM

he's right stock 02 gts come with 327 i put ford moter sport in mine 400.00 installed.

apenn 08-09-2002 09:17 AM

Hi Coolie - I'm getting ready to have 3.73's put in my '00 GT, did your $400 include the spedometer stuff also?

apenn 08-09-2002 09:20 AM

Coolie - I just noticed your from Jacksonville, FL. I am to. Where did you have your rearend gears done and how are they doing, any return trips for adjustments?

02torchredGT 08-09-2002 09:58 PM

nice setup mineralgray, i have the exact same setup as you on my 02 GT. the flows do sound nice. i was going to get the 3.73 gears in mine, it makes the car alot quicker from light to light, but it screws up the speedometer and you need a chip to fix it. with the car still pretty much new and still under warranty for a good while i'm gonna hold off on any further mods. but, 3.73 gears are definitely the best starting place for mods. after that you could try under drive pullies, steeda or mac. mac pullies are cheaper but they haven't released them yet for the 02 GT..

Titan 08-09-2002 11:04 PM

You don't always have to get a chip to fix the speedo. Many places offer some type of calibration gear that you can use to fix your speedo. I"m not real sure the name of it, I was told I probably wouldn't need one w/ 3.73 gears, that they are mainly needed for 4.10's.

Titan 08-09-2002 11:19 PM

for 98+ mustangs, it's an electronic ratio adaptor...I found one at www.gefracing.com for $130. Chips to it too, though--if you're willing to spend the extra money.

02Silver4.6 08-11-2002 08:02 AM

Dont waste your money on 3.73's, get 4.10's. I have an 02 GT 5 speed, and I love my 4.10's(Daily driven car). Just my .02 cents;)

Titan 08-11-2002 10:40 AM

Daily driver, as in interstate driven daily driver??? When going to school I'm on the interstate runnnin 80 for about 45 min...4.10's would beat the hell outta me
