Post 12 second speed density

I've finally find out how to launch with those slick with a 1,72 0-60. I was reward with a 12.84 at 104.9 mph. I'm so proud, everyone told me that it was nearly impossible and that i would need to switch to mass-air. I've almost done everything to my car, ported stock heads and intake, stock cam with 1.7 rr, pulley, cold air kit, electric fan, adjustable fpr, remove all the weight that i could, superchip, shorty headers, 2 1/4 off road, magnaflow catback, hurst shifter, 3.55 gear. What can i do to go faster and keep my N/A speed density set up? Windage tray? Aluminium flywheel( this thing work great on a Honda but on a mustang?!?!)Had compression ? Anyone who have crazy speed density setup? Thanks guys!

Go to 2.5" exhaust, that extra flow will help you in the mid and high end.

------------------
1 5-8 full lenght headers
Custom 3" exhaust with 3" high flow cats
Flowmasters 40 series with pro dumps,
MAC cold air fender induction,
MAF conversion, cobra eec

Congrats on a awesome running car. Man I bet you could win some cash at the street races with that almost stock lookin car. Some more tuning could net you another tenth or so.

88work horse used to run speed density with Edelbrock heads, E-303 cam, and I froget which intake but it went 12.1@111mph.

My car not only look stock, it almost have the sound of a stock engine with my magnaflow catback. I cannot run more than 10 of timing with my superchip( I've pick a tenth with that chip believe it or not). On the dyno, my car have made 251 rwhp and 306rwtq( that's more than lots of people with heads, cam, intake combo)Look at all that torque, I think that's the 2 1/4 exhaust who give this. The engine is not that much free flowing, it have all the stock component.Any opinion? am i wrong? I think i have a pretty well mathing combo with those numbers!?!

You got a great matched really well running combo. Obviously with a cam change you could get the car to gain a little. That would take a bit more tuneing once again, and you would loose some of that sleeper sound. Windage tray could net you a few more hp 5-8.

Im trying to think of anything else... You could mill your heads for more compression, that may bump you another 10-15hp.

How much weight savings have you done?

Who did your porting?

You could try an ignition setup, Ive seen them claiming 8-10hp. So theres a place you could gain a little more.

Try making a Ram AIR setup, therse another tenth or so in that if it works well.

You can run a short belt at the track, by pass the power steering, smog pump and A/C. That will gain you another 1mph and probably .1-.15 seconds.

Thanks for your advice. My car weight 3210 with me. It would be lighter if it was a LX. I've done all the porting by myself with the help of a friend who have done a couple of porting job on a few cars( he his a chevy guy with a mid 9 second nova ss). I've past countless hours on these heads. Anyone with aluminium flywheel? I also forgot to say that my intake was iced at the strip and i don't have the smog pump anymore. What about aluminium heads with my stock intake?

Thumbs up

Congratulations on the 12sec pass!! You can get that stang in the 11's with a S/D Car. I run 11.90's S/D with the Air being 4500ft above Sea level. Keep on digging for those 11's!

Sbstanged87, are you running the stock injectors with your 150 dry shot? When i will have squeaze all the available horsepower of my car , i will maybe put a NOS plate system. For the moment, i'm trying to make my speed density faster naturaly aspirated. It's nice to see other S/D cars that run great. I think that too much people switch to mass-air without trying to tune the speed density computer and i think that's a big mistake on a car that have less than 300 hp!
