Default Is 13.8@100 Possible?

I ran the 14.6 with really bad tires(spinning through 1st, and part of 2nd), Not powershifting, and my timing was at 6*. I have mastered my launch now, even with the 1-wheel peel(sometimes).

This year I will pull the passanger seat, and the rear seats out, along with all the other stuff in the car, to see what i can run with barely anything in it(just 1 night).

How much does the passanger seat weigh(power lumbar) and the back seats???

Please guestimate what times I should be able to clock off.

Thanks

No way your mph would have been 100mph spinning if your car was 100mph capable. Your gonna need 20 or 30 more horsies to go 100mph.

You may knock off 2 or 3 tenths.

Good luck though,

Well, with the timing advanced to 10* from 6*, it made a HUGE difference. Loaded down with all my stuff, the car is now a noticable bit faster than it was when i ran the 14.6@94.7. also, i am sure i could cut a 2.060ft now.

with a 2.0 60' and weight removed, you might hit a low 14, just think, my car is lighter than yours to begin with, and i trap 99.85 highest in good air, i suggest you get an electric fan, when i had my clutch fan, i was trapping 95 mph with that crappy thing on, really drags down on the top, or maybe mine was failing.

but good luck....

Oh, I forgot to mention I have a Black Magic Fan, and my Off-Road H-Pipe will be on, and I will remove my sway bar when I take the seats out.

Did you just add the fan? that and the swaybar removal alone should get your 60' down, the h-pipe didnt help me much on e.t, but i did gain a mph or so. you should be real close, play with your timing, i ran 13.9 on street tires with the swaybar removed, cai and fan, my timing was at 14* before i put in this chip.

I say 13.9@99 if you put your timing at 14, and add that electric fan and H-pipe and put on some sticky tires.

Forget removing the back seat it aint heavy at all, just pull the passenger seat.

When I first got my 92' coupe and started to modify it I ran a 13.86 at 101. That was with most of the sound deadner taken out, k&n, 73 mm ma, 70mm tb, 1.72 rr, 1 5/8" uneaquals, off-road h, 2 1/2" flowmonsters, and 3:73 gears. On a 265/50 bgf non-drag radial. I don't see why you couldn't do it , I'm sure a set of gears will help you out though. I think I got like a 1.96 60ft on that run. I thought it was great at the time, because they said I couldn't race until I got a helmet since my car broke 100 mph. I can't wait to see what my new motor runs. Hey skyler, I hope to see you at carlsbad some time. I will probably be back in the states in about a month or two. later, Chris.

Talking Oh holding out on me...

Well with an electric fan, off road H-pipe, and bumped up timing it is entirely possible. I thought you meant you were going to do it with the mods that you had.

I am hoping for about the same time as you are I have more stuff done to my car than you but this damn alttitude SUCKS so a 13.8-14.0 @98-100 mph would make me happy I guess.

Good Luck,

haha, byrnech, We have to wear a helmet when we hit 13.99 or faster, no matter what the mph, hehe sux i have to wear one of their nasty rentals, i wish it was a 100mph, but i intend on hitting 100 mph next time out anyway, with adding some 1.7 roller rockers, and pulling out my spare.

The passenger seat weighs about 30lbs. I dropped 1 tenth taking mine out(could have just been a better launch though). I agree with Skyler, leave the back seat in it weighs as much as a box of corn flakes.

If you can bump your timing up again to 13 or 14 do that too. Mine is at 13 and I noticed more power going from 10.

With better tires and your other mod's you should be at low 14's.

A freinds bolt on car runs 13.10's @ 101 mph. He run 8 inch slicks, drag springs/struts and has an untouched factory longblock. Just a Cobra intake, headers, gears, etc..

It's possible now....hell I think you could have done it with the timng and driving technique. A lot of people say that even if you're spinning, you're gonna get the same mph as if you didn't. BUT, you're also wasting time and dragstrip not going much faster, you can gain mph with a dead hookup. Plus, couple that with better driving (powershifting) and more power (timing advance) and yeah, it MAY have been possible.

BTW, I've gone 13.2s @ 101 so you still have lots of room to grow.

Actually, If you intend on using the same tires, I think your going the wrong way, I think you should add weight to the rear so you can get the car to hook up. Either that or your just way to aggressive at the line.

Yea, good point, i took out my spare, and lost lots of traction, and slowed down to a 14.3 2.2 60' on firehawks, with my spare in, and a 1/2 tank gas, i ran a 13.9 on street tires, with a 2.0 60' no real mods at the time, and the air was about 40 degrees.

I was having traction problems too, and I added 150lbs to the trunk and a half tank of gas and improved 3 tenths
