Post Do you run through water box with drag radials ?

Just wondering how everyone runs their drag radials at the track ? How much pressure do you usually run ? Do you go through or around the water box ? What kind of 60's have you pulled ? THANKS
GREGG

Yes, go through the water. If you don't, you'll just be taking it out on your clutch. I usually drive around the water with my front tires though and back up into it if you need to. I do 2nd gear burn outs after they are wet, just look in your side mirrors, when you see smoke that should be plenty. You need a lot of clutch leaving with DR's, too little and you'll bog, too quick and you'll spin. Don't launch like you would with a slick. When I had my 95 Cobra, I saw 1.79, 1.80, 1.82 on stock suspension and motor running 13.1's. On your first burn out, burn the hell out of them. They need to be broken in or cured.

Good luck.
