who makes the best 70mm throttle body

i was wondering who makes the best 70mm throttle body because i'm getting ready to purchase any help would be appreciated it.thanks

I would have to say Accufab, but they are expensive.

I'd have to guess Accufab too. They are the most expensive so they have to be pretty nice lol.

Yeah Accufab looks like the best choice. I have an Edelbrock/BBK piece. It's not to shabby.

My question is when will some joker flowbench all of the available Tb's out there! I'd pay real money (like somebody would want any other kind

) To find out what these things can do. Is it me or am I the only one who just isn't satisfied with "Oh yeah on this combo you need a blah blah millimeter throttle body because it's bigger than the old one."

I've seen more than a few articles suggest that velocity is still important on EFI motors. Which seems to make sense as the only real advantage to installing a Tb that is "to large" would be to reduce pumping losses. And the only way to pick the right one would be to rate them by cfm.

Another vote for Accufab - Have had mine on the car for 4 years with no problems of any kind and the polished finish still looks great.

I had a Edelbrock/BBK on my car. Made good power with it and loved it...until it broke. The throttle blade that attaches to the butterfly valve broke in two. Now my old stock TB is on the car

Miraclmax - they have been flowbenched by magazines. 65mm is the way to go for most combinations.

I also had a BBK TB (70mm) and traded it for a ford motorsports 65mm. I was glad I did after hearing about the problems with the BBK's.

I've heard the accufab is the best and would have gotten one of those if I hadn't already had the edel/bbk unit. I've heard the screw in the edel/bbk unit will sometimes break off and you will have to tear the motor down to get it out.. that's what I heard some years ago.

Tell you what, I'll sell you my 70mm tb and buy myself an accufab...

Still wish they'd rate em by CFM Mach rather than bore size. I know Accufab gives the size and flow rating for theres and I remeber when MMFF did a comparo on a 427 sb but they had a mix of units. If I remeber correctly the accufab 75mm flowed 840 cfm? not to mix nuts and bolts here, but chevy's stock tb on the LS1 is a 75mm unit and I think it flows in the neigborhood of 780 cfm. I rember I tried to pry the info out of Edelbrock in their 75mm unit and they said to call BBK, got on the tech line for BBK and well I think I just hung up cause it was taking more time than I had to wait. Never went back for a follow up so I dunno. My 347's gonna need in the neighborhood 700-750 cfm to get me where I wanna be powerwise.

Mac makes throttle bodies and egr spacers now, which is what I am looking at. Stay away from BBK! They screwed me hard last month with factory defective long tube headders(leaking welds at the primaries) and a defective H pipe. They caused me so much pain and suffering, that I have sworn them off.
