1987 Bronco 5.0 motor ??'s !!!
I got a hold of a 1987 Bronco 5.0L motor. It uses the same E7TE heads, but the block is also an E7TE instead of an E7ZE like the Mustang. The firing order is different than the H.O. as you all probably already know. My question is, what other differences are there in this motor as opposed to a H.O.? If I were to bolt on a H.O. intake system and a new cam are they the same? I heard that the H.O. motors had forged rods for some years? Is this true? And would anyone know if this also applied to the truck 5.0's? Thanks for any help!!

I'm not sure about differences in the block, but the forged rod thing sounds like BS to me. I can't see ford putting forged rods in any stock vehicle. All of the rods i've ever seen come out of a 5.0 have definately been cast. If you put an HO cam and intake setup along with injectors and computer from an HO it would basically be the same engine. The cam takes care of the firing order being different.
