Default 1988 5.0l lx

Hi i recently found a 1988 ford mustang lx 5.0 with a 5 speed. its been off the road for the last 4 years and has only 30,xxx kms on it. there have been a few basic mods, heads headers, exaust, ram ar hood, short shifter....
its black on black with no visable rust or dents.
5 star chrome pony rims...

i live in southern ontario and clean stangs are hard to come by in black on black... i was wondering how much a car like this would go for..
I am going to take the car to my mechanic and have him check it out for any problems...
the guy wants $10,000 and i'm jsut wondering if this is to much for an 88 lx.

with only 30,000 kms it is still new
no dents or rust and some mods I'd say it is worth $10,000 CAD

Depending on how bad this guy wants to get rid of it you could probably start nit picking about little things and get him down lower but if he won't budge it is still worth it in my opinion

are you talking 13-15000 US Dollars
10,000 Canadian is only like 6,500 US

that's not bad for a very low milage mint condtion 5 liter

have you looked at www.trader.ca for others in your area
you can get a good idea of what's out there and how much it's worth
I friend of mine around Kingston here just paid $15,000 CAD for a 93 lx, it's black but has a red interior, has a saleen body kit and some work done to the aod tranny and exhaust but a completely stock motor, I think it had about 40,000 km on it
it is mint condition and a nice car but I doubt I would have paid that much
An 88 is 5 years older but it has less kilometers on it and the guy only wants 10 for it so that might be a little better.

If you really want this car all I can say is jew him down as much as you can and then buy it
I don't think 10 is too bad but less would always be better

Its not a bad price but not a great price either IMO. Remember its a 14 year old car. I think if you look around there may be better deals to be had. On the other hand if its exactly what you have been looking for, go for it!
