Shift Points
I JUST RECENTLY BOUGHT A NEW 2002 MUSTANG GT. IM PLANNING ON TAKING IT TO THE DRAG STRIP BUT IM NOT SURE ABOUT THE SHIFT POINTS. ON THE STREET IVE BEEN TACHING IT TO 6 GRAND. BUT IF ANYONE KNOWS BETTER POINTS PLEASE LET ME KNOW.THANKS.

Yep,
On the 99+ GT's take it as close to the revlimit as possible. If you look at the HP and Torque curves of the 99+ 4.6 2v, and plug the numbers into the formulas from the Auto Math Handbook, you'll see you should shift into 2nd actually at 6500 ( Redline = 6000 RPM Rev limit is 6250), and 3rd and 4th should be shifted into at 6100 RPM according to my calculations.
