1994 Dashboard Panel Vent problem
Hi all,
I'm new to the forum so if I'm in the wrong place, please forgive me. My question is about heating / AC vent control. First of all, the heat and AC works fine except for the vent control which only blows out of the defrost duct. I'm pretty sure that its a vacuum problem, but I'm not sure where to start looking. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!! |
Re: 1994 Dashboard Panel Vent problem
I see no one replied to your problem....did you ever figure it out. I'm having the same problem but it's only when I accelerate. Fine when cruising but I give it a little gas and the vents change places and head to the defrost location. Anyone have a clue?

Re: 1994 Dashboard Panel Vent problem
This should help a lot.........you either loast the vauum line in the engine compartment or often, pulling the conttol panel causes the yellow vacuum line to pull off the vacuum motor that changes the air from the windshield to the dash vents......

Re: 1994 Dashboard Panel Vent problem
I know it's a vacuum problem with mine. I've seen some people say you've got a leak somewhere. I pulled all my lines and checked them out. They look crack free. I figured since it lost vacuum hold only when I accelerated it was just a small leak and then wasn't strong enough to hold it at that point. I'm not sure. If anyone has any other ideas, let me know.

Re: 1994 Dashboard Panel Vent problem
The vacuum resesivor is probably bad. It won't hold enough vacuum when you're accelerating to keep the door in place.
To find a leak you can blow smoke, with a smoke machine, through the hoses and components to see the leak. |
