A couple years ago I had a customer with an '83 T-bird turbo, and he thought he blew the engine, so he got another t-bird turbo engine from an '87, and had me do the install.
The hardest part was all the sensors had different types of connectors, but with a little patience, in worked great. Even passed smog the first time out (that shocked me).
If you are puting a turbo into a non turbo car, you need the turbo ECM, wiring harness, and sensors. They have different values (your vacuum doesn't do the ECM much good with boost!).
From there, it's pretty straight forward.
