2 Transbrake or not 2 transbrake?
That is the question. Ok my transmission in my truck is slowly going to crap everyday I drive it, 2nd gear is gone. I am going with a Turbo 350 or Turbo 400, anybody have opinions on those? Other than the TH-400 is beefier and takes more hp. A guy told me a TH-350 uses 23hp, and a TH-400 used 43hp. Ok well I'm planning on running 11's, 10's or faster with nitrous, so transbrake or not? I am kinda leaning towards one, anyone with T-B, experience have any comments? I know a TH-350 built right can hold up to 9's, most guys faster than that run a powerglide or equivalent. I am checking into TCI to buy from, anyone have any experience with them? Thanks guys.

well, I can't help you with the transbrake question, but I can give you my opinion and experience with TCI trannys. I bought a Street Fighter C-4, and a torque converter from them. After having to return the messed up valve body in exchange for another, then the torque converter was the wrong part with the right part number stamped on it, so I had to exchange that. Then after six months the whole tranny just basically fell apart. They gave me a one year warranty, but I was so dissatisfied with their products, that I didn't even use it. Plus I had to fight them to refund shipping on the parts that were screwed up when I got the tranny. I haven't had or heard of too many problems with their torque converters, but I will NEVER buy another tranny from them again.

Well, I use a transbrake on my car, and i LOVE it. It will give you a better reaction time and a better harder, straighter launch than footbraking will. If you have anymore questions let me know. Now about the tranny, use a Turbo 400. Hands down. It can handle more power than a turbo 350.

Ok, Where is good place to get a TH-400 with a brake? And what are there prices? I was going to order from TCI, but D&R has shy'd me away from them. Keep in mind I only want to buy one of them for a while. ;) How much power can a TH-400 hold up to? Thanks, and I'll be awaiting your response RadicalGT..

If I were you I would go with the turbo 400 for sure.....Thats what my brother runs with a 3500 stall and a shift kit. You would run faster with a turbo 350 but it cant handle the abuse like a turbo 400.
