2000 Lightning performance??

A friend of mine just got a 2000 Lightning. What a badass truck!

But were having a hell of a time finding mods for it. I assume the best way to go would be exhaust, MAF, and probably a smaller pulley to up the boost and a chip.

Anyone got any ideas? Or know where to get stuff for em?

in the april eddition of muscle mustangs and fast fords i believe they have an 2000 lightning and they have mods on it i dont know if that would help u or not but u might just want to check it out this lightning runs like 11's

I can't help with the where to buy parts question,

But I was at the track today and there were 2 lightnings there. One was a silver 01 and the other was a beautiful blue 02. I believe they both had smaller blower pulleys and some sort of cold air induction setup.

I only paired up against the silver one, and he whooped my ***.
I had a bad launch and ran a 13.8 to his 13.1. Ouch

The other ne (the 02) ran a 12.9 on street tires which made me about **** my pants. Then he slapped on a set of ET streets and ran consistent 12.50's.

It's just not fair that a 5000lb truck can be just slightly modded and whoop the hell out of my car

MM/FF has a 2000 Lighting known as "the fridge". You should pick up some back issues.

Go to F150online.com, and ask for Neal. he is damn near a Lightning God. he even manufacturers specific parts for them. he will tell you everything you could possibly want to know.

Believe it or not the newer Lightnings have, I think around 20 more hp. A guy i know who also owns a couple stangs and a 427 ac cobra has one. And he was pissed as hell cuz his was a year earlier then those with the 20 extra horses. Heh, i got to ride it in before and he jacked the $hit outa it. I don't remeber if he had mods, but he had the tires spinning all the way into 4th gear. What is that $hit? hehe..i wish my car could do that from stand still position.
