2000 rpm missing problem

what would cause my engine to hesitate right at 2000 rpm, never below or past 2k? checked all the usual things.could it be the distributer?(a bad tfi mod)???Weather conditions don't seem to matter,It does it only about the 5th time it passes that rpm?Sometimes more often.

well that happen to me and it was just one of the hoses going to the upper intake, it would only do it sometimes as well..... i am not sure maybe some sort of vacum leak......
later

I've had the intake off a few times and all the vacuum hoses seem to be on snug. Some of them could try to clamp tighter? Can't do a burnout in reverse because I have to do all I can to keep it in reverse just to back out of the driveway.(time to get that tremec).

2000 RPM missing problem

When is the last time you've changed your fuel filter? It very well could be something that easy. If you replace that and still have the problem, then I'd go with the basic tune-up stuff like replacing the cap/rotor/spark plugs/wires....

I replaced the fuel filter 3000 miles ago, along with the cap, rotor, plugs, msd wires,pcv.etc. The car was completely stock.Any mod i've done didn't seem to make it any different. It almost seems if a injector is getting a bad signal at that rpm.But I would think over time this would have got worse. This has been going on for 3 yrs and 6000 miles? Thanks for the ideas though.
