![]() I have a 95 GT. The motor is stock with a cat-back exhaust and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. The MAF is stock.
The car will drive normally sometimes; other times it feels like its running rich, and other times it spark knocks. Sometimes, it will literally change its demeanor during a drive; going from bogging to spark knocking and back to bogging, ect. When the car is bogging or knocking, its registering a check engine light. I've found that when I disconnect the MAF, the car stops varying between rich and lean and runs fairly well, much better. This leads me to believe that the MAF is the culprit- though I've heard that 94-95 GTs are prone to spark knock. I've got a Pro-M 75mm on order right now, and am hoping that this cures the problem. Any input? Do these symptoms sound right for a malfunctioning MAF? Thanks in advance. |

![]() If it runs pretty much flawless with the mass air out of the picture, then the sensor is gone. I wouldn't rule out a bad TFI module which can give similar symptoms, as would a bad ECM, but i would guess the mass air is shot.

![]() With the MAF unplugged, the car will hesistate bigtime from a stop from idle speed when I initially hit the gas, but once rolling it runs perfectly. If I keep it above my 600 rpm idle with some pedal at a stop, it won't hesitate at all and runs perfectly the whole time.
ECM= my EEC-IV? Carparts.com has EEC-IVs for $160, was thinking that would be my next step if the MAF didn't cure my woes. |

![]() Rewplace your mass air.. Get a after market one, Pro-M or granettelli... Most likely your mass air is shot and it would hesitate if its unplugged..
