Got my 3.55's in
What a difference over the stock 2.73's!!! The install went well. Absolutely no gear whine or chatter. They really woke the car up. It feels so much lighter on it's toes now. First gear is pretty short but that's ok because accerleration throughout the rpm is much improved. 5th gear is actually useful now. With the 2.73's if I wanted to pass someone while doing 80-90km/h, I'd usually have to drop to 4th but not anymore Anyone thinking about doing gears, I highly recommend them.

Gears will definately wake the 4.6 modulars up...
I personally would have went to 3.73, but it is largely a matter of taste...;-) Happy Driving! ------------------ 98 GT Dyno-Max cat-back exhaust, 3.73 gears, Steeda shifter, Ford Motorsport Underdrive pullies, 87mm MAF and Roush cold air kit... |

Dino,
Hey bud, glad to hear your new gears are in! They make a big difference, don't they!? I have 3:73s in my Cobra and they're perfect for that high-revving motor. Keep us updated on your mods. I finally got my MAC catback fixed up okay. Just needed a little heat from a torch and some minor crimping on the passenger side. It still should have fit better, even if it was only $250. Man, it sounds delcious, though! I went to an autocross last Sunday and my buddy with a '99 Cobra was there. He put Borlas on his car. I couldn't believe it. They sound awful. Glad I went with the Flowpaths. -- Greg (Tallahassee) ------------------ '96 Cobra - K&N, Pro-M 77, Pro 5.0 shifter, 3:73s, Cobra "R"s, Steeda control arms, pulleys, springs and caster/camber plates, MAC 2.5 catback with Flowpaths. |
