Question 300rwhp can it be done???

do you guys think i can get 300rwhp out my car with the vortech a-trim with the 8lb pully set up and can i do the same thing if i used the 9lb powerdyne?the reason i ask is because my car is an aod and i know that my tranny will eat like 50hp before it gets to the wheels.I would just like to get a good 300hp to the wheels.
Thanks to any answers ahead of time.

If your engine can support the airflow, I think it's entirely possible. This'll mean cam, intake, TB, MAF, heads, and exhaust, not to mention the fuel flow. I'd highly suggest staying away from the PowerDyne. Belt drives are quiet, yet have grave reliability issues. Go Paxton or Vortech, preferrably the latter.

Regarding the AOD: You'll probably want to get a higher stall converter that retains the lockup feature, and consider rebuilding and upgrading it significantly. Replace that damn TV cable grommet in the throttle lever before anything, though. Any Ford dealer should have it. I redid mine a few months back, and even with street racing it 3 nights a week, it'll still break loose shifting into second gear, and that's with 3.73's! I'm planning on an S-trim myself, but with it comes about $4000 worth of engine & drivetrain mods, and also traction devices yet to be decided.

Red face

capri306 i am not going to put heads cam intake on tell later. Right now i am asking if it was possible to make 300rwhp with just the powerdyne or the vortech making 8-9lbs of boost on my totaly stock engine besides underdrive pullys with a tottaly stock aod tranny.
I am not bitching at you or any one on this board but every body here that has a powerdyne sais that they have not had any problems whith theres breaking (the new powerdyne's that is)but i really want the vortech any way cause they sound so bad *** .
Thanks for your help and response cari306.

I am not enough of an expert to determine whether you could hit 300rwhp with a stock aod and a Vortech A-trim or PD. I think with a good tune, you might come close running 9psi off the PD.

Also, the latest BD-11A models from PD are a bit more reliable than the older BD-10/11 models. I have had no problems with mine though right now, I only run 6psi. I really do think the A-trim has more boost potential in the end though. Good luck.

I think 300 rear wheel horses is a little out of reach. They say drive train soaks up roughly 30%. You'd have to make about 390 flywheel h.p. The biggest problem on your engine(and mine for that matter) is the cylinder heads and intake. Stock Ford heads suck! You'll probably make about 240-260 rear wheel horses with your blower. However add an intake with big heads and you'll probably get 350-400 horses at the rear wheel. Since you're running boost, you can get big heads and intake to take advantage of that airflow. Your blower can probably flow about 850-1000 cubic feet per minute. That's enough to make serious power if you open up the heads and intake to let all 1000cfm go through with ease.
